Gus Wortham Golf Classic on Friday
The Gus Wortham Golf Classic, which is sponsored by Commissioner Sylvia Garcia and U.S. House Representative Gene Green, will be held this Friday, October 10 from 12:00 noon to 6:00 PM. The organizers are asking for a total of six volunteers from the neighborhoods that surround the golf course (Houston Country Club Place, Idylwood, and East Lawndale). Two volunteers are needed to drive the beverage cart and the other four volunteers will be used to help with preparations for the evening awards dinner which will start about 6:00 PM and also help with the silent auction table. Volunteers will be provided dinner that evening at no cost to them.
Also, if you would like to donate funds for the renovation of Gus Wortham Golf Course, you can do so by purchasing an Awards Dinner ticket which is $50.00. The Awards Dinner will be at 6:00 PM October 10 at Gus Wortham Golf Course. Contact Ella Edmiston (phone number above) by Thursday October 9 to reserve an Awards Dinner ticket.
