Garden Club Meets This Saturday
Our speaker will be Gary Edmondson, the director of education for Urban Harvest. Gary will talk on fall vegetable gardens with an emphasis on effective use of limited gardening space, which many of us face in Idylwood. Now is the time to plant fall vegetables to ensure a bountiful crop this fall and winter. Think carrots (that taste like carrots, not wood!), greens (chard, mustard, kale), lettuce, beets, cool weather herbs and more. This is also a way to make lemonade out of lemons if you are finding yourself with a newly sunny garden bed following the loss of trees and limbs from Hurricane Ike.

If you have been curious about the Garden Club, this will be a great first experience for you. All are welcome, from curious brown thumbs to expert master gardeners!
